1. Information We Collect

Living Sword collects minimal information necessary to provide our services:

• Account information (name, email)
• Prayer and journal entries you create
• Posts, comments, prayer requests, messages and testimonies you share with others
• Reports you make (the reason, any note you add and a copy of what you reported) and the people you block
• Usage data and app analytics
• Device information for app functionality

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve our services
• Personalize your spiritual growth experience
• Send important updates and notifications
• Process subscriptions and purchases

3. Data Security

We take data security seriously. Your information is encrypted and stored securely using industry-standard practices. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and data in the app, or ask us to do it by email (livingsword.app/delete-account explains how)
• Export your data
• Opt-out of communications
• Withdraw your permission for the AI features at any time: under You, turn off Send my words to AI
• Stop tracking for TikTok on iPhone in the Settings app, under Privacy and Security, then Tracking. On Android, you can delete or reset your advertising ID in your phone settings
• Turn off notifications for Living Sword in your phone settings. From the next time the app opens, it stops sending your activity to Pushwoosh

5. Third-Party Services

Living Sword uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase for data storage and sign-in
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• AI service providers, to write your prayers, your daily path and journal improvements, to answer your Bible questions and to read prayers aloud, from the words you give them (path requests include your first name). They may process these words outside Australia
• Pushwoosh to send notifications. While notifications are on for Living Sword, it also receives your account ID (not your name or email), your reminder time and time zone, your subscription status and prayer balance, and what you do in the app, such as asking for a prayer, finishing a chapter, searching the Bible or buying. It does not receive the words of your prayers or journal
• TikTok to measure which of our ads lead people to install the app, sign up, write a first prayer, look at our plans or buy. It receives those steps, the plan, price and currency of a purchase, and details about your phone such as its advertising ID. On iPhone this happens only if you allow tracking. Android does not ask, so on Android it runs from when the app opens
• Stripe for payments made on our website

Before your words are first sent to an AI service, the app asks your permission. On our website, the step where you write your words tells you this before anything is sent, and continuing gives permission for the words you send there. If you have turned off Send my words to AI in the app, the website does not turn it back on. In the app, you can withdraw it at any time under You, by turning off Send my words to AI. The app then stops sending your words, and asks again before it sends anything. Withdrawing does not delete the prayers, journal entries or answers you already have; you can delete those in the app.

6. Voice Journaling and Audio Storage

When you record a prayer journal entry by voice, your speech is transcribed on your device using Apple's or Google's built in speech recognition. Your audio is not sent to our servers for transcription.

If you save the entry, the recorded audio file is uploaded to our private storage so you can play it back later.

• Audio for free users is automatically deleted 30 days after upload.
• Audio for active subscribers is retained while your subscription is active.
• If your subscription lapses, retained audio enters a 30 day window before deletion.

The transcribed text and the AI improved version of your entry are retained for as long as your account exists.

7. Children's Privacy

Living Sword is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email.

Website measurement

We use first-party website measurement to understand which pages and steps help people start using Living Sword. Records include an anonymous session identifier, page and button categories, campaign labels, and technical success or error categories. We do not include your prayer text, names, email address or account identifier in these records.

When available, that session identifier can connect a website visit with a confirmed Stripe payment or first app sign-in. Payment measurement records include the invoice identifier, currency and gross amount. This is pseudonymous measurement, and account and payment systems retain their separate records.

Browser event collection honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Measurement records are stored privately in Supabase and hosting logs. The Supabase measurement archive is removed after 90 days by a daily cleanup; payment and account records follow the rest of this policy.
